The process of applying heat; for example using an electric or gas heat gun; to shrink expanded plastic tubing or shapes down to its original size. A distinction is made in this respect between recovered dimension(original size) and supplied dimension (expanded size). Heat shrinking is used in various industries and applications – for instance to insulate and protect cables against heat; chemicals or water.
